Flashback Friday

I have a couple reasons for posting today.
#1- It's leap day! I can't pass up an opportunity to blog on Feb 29.
#2- I haven't done a flashback in a very long time. I only have a few oldies scanned into my computer but I think this is a good one. This is me and my dad in October of 1979. We look rather snazzy, don't we? I love the way he is holding onto my hand- so cute. Aren't my shoes classy?

Odds 'n ends

*Remember the Prince I bought for Sara to accompany her Fairy Barbie? The other day I said something to her about her boy barbie. She was very offended and said, "Mom, he is not a boy Barbie, he is a play boy." Oh my child. Don't be saying that too loudly.

*Taylor cracks us up with the way he pronounces half of what he says. With the death of President Hinckley, there has been a lot of talk around our house about him. His name is like a tongue twister to Taylor and he just can't get it quite right. In his attempts to say "President Hinckley", it almost always comes out sounding like "Heavenly Princkley" and we just have to laugh (without harming his fragile 5-year-old self esteem, of course).

*It appears Livvy has realized that mommy's belly isn't quite like it used to be. Yesterday as I was getting dressed she wandered into my room, reached her little hand up to my belly, started patting it, and kept saying over and over "uh oh, uh oh." Took the words right out of my mouth, kid.

*Yesterday I took all three kids to the grocery store. I know, what was I thinking? I was in a rush so we didn't spend too long picking out a cart. As luck would have it, I grabbed a cart where all three straps/buckles were broken. Seriously? You're killing me people! Fix the straps on your dang carts! It's not like choosing another cart would have solved the problem- I generally find that most of them are broken. I can see if it's a regular cart but a kid cart- for crying out loud- keep up on it! I love when I am shopping and people give me the evil eye because my child is not buckled. Hey, it' s not me, talk to Maceys about fixing their dang carts. Or buggies. Or whatever you call them where you live.

Anyway, the kids were super silly. Not good. Taylor kept jumping down so Sara would follow and then they would push and drag the cart. In the meantime, I had to throw Livvy into the back of the cart because she was too much of a hazard in the front seat. I look over and she is snacking on the apples and ripping apart the broccoli. Fabulous. So then I'm trying to hold her while pushing this whale of a cart with two other kids on it. And to top it off, I'm pregnant- noticeably pregnant. So I'm sure people are like "what is that woman doing having more children?" Right. Don't worry people, I ask myself that same question every day. There is what I like to call, the point of no return, and that is where I am at. Which is totally fine. If I'm not at the grocery store.

So we check out. The kids are trying to empty suckers and candy bottles (bad invention) from the little candy rack conveniently placed right in the check out aisle at their eye level. I manage to move them away from that to stand by the bagger. The bagger kid was exciting for about .3 seconds at which point Taylor decided to teach Sara the ropes of exiting the grocery store while mommy is still paying. Ugh. These kids... We did manage to get out of there with no bodily harm done to the children.

I get home and am emptying out the grocery bags only to find a box of Tylenol Cold Head Congestion. What? I didn't buy this. Or rather I should say, I didn't put this in my cart. It appears I did, in fact, buy it. I was never anywhere near that section of the store. Ahhhh, the joys of shopping with my children. If you are in need of some Tylenol Cold Head Congestion medicine, give me a call. Wouldn't you know it, I have a whole box.

*I gave Taylor a haircut the other night. He hates getting his hair cut. I usually try to cut it pretty short just to avoid doing it so often. You'd think it had never been so short before with the way he reacted to it. "Whoa mom, I look like Uncle Mike" who, yes, has really short hair. And still, it has been a topic of conversation all week. But anyway, the next day, his little friend came over to play and he said to me all amazed, "Mom, River still recognized me even with my hair cut." So I said, "Yes honey, that's because your face is the same." His response, "Oooooh" with a very serious nod of the head. If only all answers were so simple...

Welcome Spring!

I took a little stroll around part of my yard (the part where the snow has actually melted) yesterday and was so happy to see some signs of spring.

I think these are some red tulips making their way out. They look like little crab claws.

And look at the buds on our little Charlie Brown tree! I really thought this tree was going to grow a bit quicker than it is. The guy at the nursery told me not to spend a ton of money on buying a big one because they grow pretty fast. It still looks like a little stick in the mud out there to me.

in other news

Finally! A little clip in Livvy's hair. This was a covert operation involving a very large bag of craisins. It appears to have worked.

And because I can't resist a cute "cheese" picture of Olivia:

new neighbors

Well, it looks like we have new neighbors across the street. It all started with a big truck coming and delivering a storage pod. The kids were fascinated.

The next thing I hear from Taylor, "Mom, yook, they have a deer." And then from Sara, "Mom, I don't want to kill a reindeer. I hate killing deers." I know it's probably not funny to any of you but it's funny to me. And because my camera is sitting right here in front of me, why not? I took a picture- this involved some seriously stealth photography from the window- heaven forbid they see me taking pictures- then we would like the weird neighbors. Hey, I don't have a dead deer in the back of my truck, wedged between a card table and other misc treasures...

And don't be confused, I can enjoy a dead deer hanging on the wall with the best of em. I do, in fact, have my hunter's safety. I went hunting once and thought it was the most freezing, boring, and tiring (do you know how early hunter's wake up? ugh) experience of my life but I digress... Who can forget Grandpa Jensen's dead deer, adorned with a rudolph nose during the holidays? Or Uncle Alan's zoo (as stated by Jeremiah). I certainly won't forget.

But I do have to wonder about the neighbor's MC Hammer pants... What are those things called anyways?

Lil chef

Tonight Sara introduced her domestic diva to the family- she helped make dinner. Her eagerness to help make dinner had less to do with actual interest but more to do with the fact that she gets to wear her "cooker" (aka: apron) when she helps in the kitchen. The cuisine was excellent tonight- German Pancakes and Bacon. Fine dining at its best.

She had to hold the mixer with both hands and even then it was wobbling all over the place. I was afraid. But under no circumstances did she want help. She was slightly put out that I didn't let her crack the eggs into the bowl.

Pouring the eggs into the batter:

Batter into pan- Looks like we need to invest a couple cents into a hair net, ya think?

After popping the delicacy in the oven, we had a few minutes to capture this little chump in her "cooker".

Ahhh...isn't she sweet?

And the final product:

The German Pancakes turned out rather nicely- they came out all puffy and eggy, just like they should. Sara took one look at them coming out of the oven and said, "Oh, I don't like to eat those" and then proceeded to eat 4 pieces of bacon for dinner, dipped in syrup. I did make her eat some of this fine cuisine she created- bribery for more pieces of bacon. I should have known this was going to happen because the entire time we were preparing the batter all she could talk about was the bacon in the oven:

"Mom, bacon comes from pigs?"
"I don't like to eat pigs."
"Oooooh, I like bacon."
"When is the bacon going to be done?"

It's the same thing with chicken, the entire time we are preparing it and eating it she talks about how she doesn't like to eat chickens. You wouldn't know that from looking at her plate- she picks out all the chicken and eats it. And she knows that it's chicken- she calls it chicken. Being three must be so confusing.

What do you think?

What do you think of this for a boy blessing outfit?
I think I like it. We didn't bless Taylor in white because everything I could find in good ole' Mississippi was either frilly or plastered with crosses- not my thing. We blessed Taylor in light blue. I figure if I can find something white for this new baby, it would be good. It's from Gymboree and I have a coupon that I can use (score!).

While I blog...

I admit it, sometimes I tune my kids out. This morning, yes morning, Sara told me she wanted a hot dog. I of course was blogging so I kept putting her off. In the meantime she got into the fridge, pulled out the hot dogs and the ketchup, and put them out on the counter. In order to do this, she had to pull a bar stool from their designated spot and put it up to the counter.

As a side note, the designated "spot" for the bar stools would be here:

Yes, I realize that it looks as though a bar room brawl has occurred in my kitchen. Having my one-and-a-half-year-old performing the 'macarena' on the counter whenever she sees fit pushes aside all my ideals of household order and replaces them with the need for safety and security of said child. When Livvy first began climbing on the counter we pulled the bar stools over here and that was enough to stop her. She then realized she could push them right back over to the counter. I left the kids with Dave the other night and came home to all the chairs on their sides. My first reaction was "What in the world happened?" I quickly came around and felt admiration and praise for my ingenious husband and his problem solving skills. At last, Olivia has been stopped!

As you can only imagine, Livvy always has one eye open, pointed in the direction of the kitchen counter. Anytime a chair is randomly up to the counter, she is in hot pursuit and up on the counter within seconds. This morning was no exception.

Sara is the family siren/watchdog. She is always letting me know when Olivia has violated her restraining order. And so, this morning, screaming at the top of her lungs, she let me know that Olivia was on the counter. I, of course, had no idea Sara had pulled the chair to the counter, let alone gotten out the hot dogs (a consequence of tuning her out, I guess). I run into the kitchen and there sits Livvy, happy as a clam, chowing down on cold hot dogs.

This picture I couldn't pass up on. She is such a nut. As soon as she saw I had the camera she was belting out "CHEESE" as loud as she could with her mouth packed full of hot dog. She puts her all into it, knocking her head back and closing her eyes. (I think her mullet is becoming so photogenic, don't you?).

She wasn't too happy that I got her down and put her in her chair but amends were made as I squeezed out a big ole' pile of ketchup for her dipping pleasure.

I really think that instead of giving out those cheap plastic diaper bags at the hospital when you bring home your new baby, they should give you a pair of hazard lights and a loud siren to attach to baby as needed. Then, and only then, would I feel I got my money's worth out of that dang hospital bill.

Tagged!

I have had some kind of flu bug all weekend. Not fun. I'm just glad it all started Saturday morning and Dave was actually home to take care of the kids and keep them away from me (kids jumping on bed and trying to love mommy does not mingle well with sick, bloated belly) Anyway, I have been tagged by my cousin Jennilyn, which is a good thing because I have nothing else to blog about, unless you want to hear more about my weekend toilet watch. Right. Moving right along...

What is your husbands full name? We just call him David M. Jackson. But I want you to know - he's bad, he's bad, you know it, he's bad...

How long have you been married? 8 years in August (being married in the year 2000 is quite helpful when it comes to this question)

Who eats more sweets? Neither of us are really sweets people but maybe I do? I don't really know. I don't monitor the sweet-intake going-ons at his office.

Who said I love you first? I am going to say he did. I would need to reference my journal and that ain't happenin' right now. I'm sure he will correct me if I'm wrong. Granted, I don't know that he will remember.

How old is he? Old. Thirty-Four. Remember the days when your age was only one un-hyphenated word? Neither do I.

Who is taller? Dave

Who is smarter? Really it depends on what you are wanting to know about. I spell and write better. He talks scientific biology jargon with the best of em. One of us must be left brained and the other right brained. Good thing because together we are operating on a full brain. I guess since I have a b.s. and he has a d.d.s., he wins.

Who can sing better? Since Dave sang and danced with the LD Singers at Snow College, he gets to take this one. Go Dave! (I have pictures if anyone is interested)

Who does the laundry? MEMEME!

Who pays the bills? MEMEME! Dave pays the bills at his office so I am more than happy to pay them at home. Plus, I have less splainin' to do about my purchasing habits...

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Dave does - although he may claim that we both do! Maybe I should clarify- I guess I just get a little too close and he claims that he is teetering on the edge of the bed, in jeopardy of falling off. Whatever husband, you know you love it! He also claims that I steal the covers. Are you kidding me? This is the same guy who has to sleep with his feet out. He throws the covers on me while sleeping and then tries to accuse me of stealing them.

Who mows the lawn? Dave. Having six brothers somehow got me out of lawn duty. Last summer Dave did make me push the mower around for a minute just to say I had done it.

Who cooks dinner? I do most of the time. He doesn't even walk in the door until 6:30 or sometimes later so that just wouldn't fly with this family. He can cook and does cook. I like to rely on him to season the meat and make sauces- he has a knack for that kind of thing.

Who drives? We both drive duh. Okay, I guess this means if we are together in the car- he does! He looks so manly driving our mini van, flexing his muscles and all.

Who kissed who first? It was dark so who really knows. And no, you may not ask any further questions about this.

Who asked who out? Uh, this never really applied to us.

Who has more siblings? I do.

Who wears the pants? Since I have never seen Dave wearing a dress, I would have to say he wears the pants more often. However, we are lovers, not fighters around here, so I guess we each have one leg into one big fat pair of Jackson family pants. Isn't that fabulous?

Okay, thanks for reading. Who to tag? Hmmm.. I am currently operating on pregnancy brain so I can't remember who has/has not done this tag so if I tag you and you've done it, please disregard. I tag Lora, Nat, Jenn (unless she is dead)!

Bakerella

I guess everybody has their own little "I know I am pregnant because..." scenarios. One of mine would be my insatiable desire to eat baked goods. If you know me on a not-so-pregnant day (which really, those days seem to be pretty rare these last few years), you will know that I do not particularly enjoy any kind of baked good. I can (and do) almost always pass on the cookie, the butter-cream frosted piece of cake (gag), or any kind of pastry/frosting infused thingy. However, these days, I lay in bed thinking about cream filled cupcakes (which I did make last week to curb the craving), chocolate chip cookies, and really anything baked and sweet. You have to understand, if I make cookies once a year a miracle has occured. Last night I was pounding minature sized Milky Ways right before bed. The obsession doesn't end and begin with baked goods. It's shameful really.

So anyway, I came across the most darling cupcakes EVER today on a food blog called Bakerella. Look at these! Aren't they the most precious things you have ever seen?

I can actually say "they are so cute I just want to eat them up" without sounding completely goofy. I know I have a tendancy to say that in regards to my children. Rest easy people, I will never ever eat my children. Back on track- I have never worked with fondant before but it just may be time for a first. Wouldn't these be so cute at a bridal shower or even a baby shower? I really would need an occasion to bring them to because making them for my own little family just wouldn't cut it. They wouldn't gush over them the way they deserve to be gushed over.

Oh, and don't think I am propositioning anyone to make me a tasty treat. Really. I get enough. Plenty. Too much, in fact. All I ask- eat a cupcake or two for me. It's all part of the 'fatten up my friends and fam so I won't look so 'Fat Nat' after the baby arrives' initiative. Thank you in advance for your participation!

Houston, wii have a problem

This morning for breakfast I made the kids pancakes. They always request that I make different shaped pancakes for them which is funny because as soon as the pancakes are done, I pull out the pizza cutter and cut them up. They don't seem to care. Today Sara requested a Snowman and Taylor requested a Wii Remote. Seriously. It appears that we need to form an intervention of sorts or just check him in to rehab.

Now I'm not claiming to be a pancake artist of any sort but I thought I would post a picture. The snowman is on the far left and the Wii remote is the other longish looking blob. When it was all done I cut out a hole in the middle for the controls. It actually did look kind of Wii-remoteish. And good ole' Livvy, she complicates my life in a lot of ways, but when it comes to pancakes she is easy-peasy- still loves the round ones. Bless her.

The Girl's Room

Well, here we are- the day I have been waiting for far too long. I can finally post on the blog that all sawing, hammering, painting, caulking, blood, sweat, and tears has ended in connection with the girl's room. We are done, DONE I SAY! I guess we aren't totally done, we still need to buy furniture and decorate but I will take that over painting beadboard anyday.

I sort of forgot about taking before and after pics until after we had started. At this point in the game, we had already painted the ceiling white.

If you look closely at the back wall by the shutters, you can see the crayon artwork that we happily covered up with beadboard.

And obviously I forgot about taking more pictures as we went along. Beadboard is up, shelf is partially up, some beadboard painted, some not.

Well if he isn't just the cutest handyman I have ever seen! Dave is becoming quite the expert (whether he wants to or not...) at all these wainscotting and home projects we have been cranking out. I love it! Thanks Dave!

And we're done! (Sorry about the crooked picture)

Sara's bed just looks so tiny over there in the corner.

I know, all these pictures look the same- just giving you more perspective.

A closer look at the shelf. We were going to do something more elaborate but by the time we got to it, we just wanted it done. This shelf was super easy and looks pretty darn good.

The girls were quite excited last night when I officially declared their room finished. Sara was elated to have her bed moved back into her room. She was running around the room in circles yelling "It's the happiest day ever!" Livvy followed suite and ended up running her little head smack dab into the wall. I took this picture of Olivia this morning- please don't be too distracted by the breakfast and boogers all over her face (daddy cleaned her up from breakfast, and no, I'm not complaining- just sayin'). See the three little lines right above her right eye? We like to call that "beadboard head". Not pretty.

Valentine's Day

I really like holidays. Give me a reason to celebrate, I'll take it. We tend to make this a family holiday around here more than anything else. Cuz really, fighting crowds of people just to eat at a restaurant, watch a movie, or do whatever else with my Valentine does not make for a happy holiday Natalie. After something like that I am definetly not feeling the love, if you know what I mean.

Because we (meaning me) like food around here, our festivities are centered around eating. Every year I have the kids help me make chocolate dipped strawberries. Last year they were covered in chocolate from head to toe and loving every minute of it. This year Taylor attempted to dip one strawberry, announced it was too hard, and took off. Sara hung around watching me so she gets all the credit this year. They didn't turn out exactly beautiful but they tasted great!

We have a Valentine Dinner every year. I decorate the table, we open presents, eat dinner, and have ourselves a fabulous time. Dave pulled out the tripod to get a picture of us all together. I don't know why I bought a white tablecloth. I sat down, looked at it, and wondered why I didn't buy a pink one. Oh well, there's always next year.

Livvy isn't exactly patient in the food dept. She can't stand to see something on her tray and not have it in her mouth. This baby has an eagle eye and spotted her chocolate covered strawberry and heart cupcake on her tray. She was trying her darndest to get them off her tray and into her belly. I finally just put her in her chair and she managed to devour her strawberry and cupcake before any of us had even taken a seat. Yes, that means she did not want to eat her dinner but hey, it was Valentine's Day and this child was livin' large. Here she is covered in holiday bliss and saying "cheeeeeeeeeeese".

She was thrilled with her Valentine gifts. Once she saw the baby doll stroller she screamed until we got her down and let her push it around.

Sara has been begging for a prince for all her little barbie princesses. I haven't been too interested in getting her one. The other day I asked her exactly why she wanted a prince doll and she told me "so they can dance". Well if that just isn't that sweetest thang- as long as dancing is the only thing going on... And so, she got her prince... and a fairy princess too. I found the prince on clearance and noticed that he had fairy ears and wings. Great. I know she has no fairy barbies so I added a $4.00 fairy barbie with wings. You never know, the other barbie dolls might not have been so accepting of the fairy prince and his fairy ways. My motto- always prepared. Do you like that she changed into her Belle Christmas Dress for our Valentine Dinner?

As far as Taylor goes, the kid needs nothing. Okay, none of my kids really need anything but you know what I mean. He is currently addicted to the Lego Star Wars game on the Wii and that is all the entertainment he needs. However, I did manage to find something right up his alley- a Red Power Ranger! He was a Red Power Ranger for Halloween so he holds Red Power Rangers near and dear to his little 5-year-old heart. It's kind of nice because he's old enough to actually understand toys now and how they work. He used to like the idea of the toy more than the actual toy- he gets it now and so I feel like I get more bang for my buck. Love it! Oh, and I love this kid too- once again, posing for the camera. He got a new sports t-shirt too, in case you are wondering what he is holding in his other hand.

And for my special Valentine, I managed to surprise him with the Leatherman Skeletool- it's a new 2008 multi-tool that is light weight and perfect for backpacking. And really, the only reason I knew that he would like this is because a few weeks back he was looking through Backpacker Magazine's 2008 Gear Guide and mentioned how cool he thought it was. Gifts for Dave are not easy to come by so I have to be on my toes.

After dinner we trudged through snow and ice throughout the neighborhood delivering Valentine treats to our neighbor friends. The kids loved it!

At the end of our evening as Dave and I were kicked back and chatting, he said to me, "I hope you know, I took you at your word and didn't get you anything for Valentine's Day." To which I jokingly replied, "You didn't get me flowers..." His response, "Well, when I was at the store I couldn't find any." So I said, "Seriously Dave, it's Valentine's Day and they were out of flowers?" Slightly reluctantly he said, "Well, they were out at the Circle K". I just had to laugh. I am so glad that Dave is my Valentine. He is the best and I wouldn't trade him for the world, not even for a bouquet of silly flowers.

the ugly stick pays a visit

Operation "reclaim my life"

Since it's snowing sideways outside right now (a sight I don't see that often since moving from Wyoming), I figure I'm hunkered down in the house and can finally take a minute to pay some attention to my long-neglected blog.

I've been a tad bit side tracked these last few days by what I like to call "operation reclaim my life". It all began when I cleaned the laundry room last week. It may not sound like that big of a deal but if you have ever taken a gander into my laundry room you know what I am talking about. I have a little counter where I tend to pile up all my "to do later" things. And then if people are coming over on short notice or not so short notice, I pile the excess in there. It all becomes a laundry room cess pool- Christmas bows and wrapping paper, the kid's coloring stuff, expired gymbucks (grrrr...but my own darn fault), toys I have been collecting for the nursery at church, bags of unfinished craft projects purchased in October for me to complete for all the holidays- ha! Cesspool. No joke.

So with the laundry room all clean, I took one day and tackled all my laundry. It was awesome. I actually had a day at home where I washed and folded all the laundry in the same day. As it came out of the dryer, I folded it. I was beaming with pride and joy.

And then there's the girl's room. A project in the works for 3 months. A nightmare- not because it has been difficult, but because who has the time for projects? With season football tickets, birthdays, holidays, basement finishing (still in the process and will be forever, I'm sure), an 18 month old, and a big fat pregnancy, not a good time to start a project. Someone please remind me of that next time BEFORE I start a project in November. Right. My mom came over the other day to watch my kids so I could paint. I would have finished had I not blown the light socket out. Sparks. Smoke. Not pretty. Past 3:30 you really can't paint depending only on outside light. It just isn't bright enough. But hey, I AM ALMOST DONE! It's a darn miracle. All three of our kids have been sleeping in the same bedroom for 3 months so you can only imagine the joy I am feeling at the thought of them being separated and being able to reclaim just a tinsy bit of my sanity. Pictures later.

I actually finished one of my crafty holiday projects that I de-junked from my laundry room. I thought to myself, "I've missed Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas- I can get the Valentine project done. And I did. Two days before Valentine's Day but who's counting? It was the super easiest thing ever- it was just a matter of finding a child-less minute to do it. And no, I didn't find one of those. Livvy was touching the wet painted wood blocks and wiping the paint on the counter. Then she snapped one of the letters in half. As long as she was having a good time...

I finally bought a mirror to go above a piece of furniture in my entry way. I've had every intention of doing this since the furniture arrived in October but you know, in all my spare time, I wasn't looking too hard for a moment to ram all my screaming kids in the car and head to every overstuffed interior decorating store around. "Yes lady, I see the 'you break it, you buy it' sign, thank you very much." Yikes. Big mirror + Costco= awesome price. I love it!

And you should see the D.I. bags I have packed and ready to go...

Cleaning, painting, shopping, organizing, purging- all of these things have been coming together to make things good around here. We are finally recovering from the holidays and it's what- the middle of February? That's right. I'll take it when I can get it.

More winter fun...

Sunday was a snowy, blustery day- so snowy and blustery that they canceled church. Somehow this all happened after Dave was up and had attended 2 1/2 hours of meetings, starting at 7:00. I did not envy him. Anyhoo, after arriving home he was quite the good samaritan, threw on all his winter gear, and went out to snowblow the neighborhood.

Seriously, gotta love the goggles..

I really had to laugh when Dave came in all soaked from the snow, pulled off the coat, snow pants, goggles, and hat to reveal his church clothes underneath, tie and all. Do most people remove snow in their church clothes? I mean, at least take off your tie! I shouldn't jest, maybe the tie was offering all the benefits of a scarf and more. Funny guy.

Taylor had a good romp in the snow too. Here are a couple cute ones of him:

Look at that gap between his front teeth! He used to tell people that he lost a tooth there. But you know, that was waaaaay back when he was four.

Frosty's Demise

It snowed earlier this morning making it a perfect day for the kids to play out in the snow.

Livvy actually wore this hat (which is mine and therefore WAY too big) for longer than 2 minutes. It was very exciting. But yes, she did take it off. Stinker!

Sara loves the idea of all the winter gear but once she is outside it slowly starts to disappear from her body. As soon as she sees snow falling from the sky she runs to grab this princess hat, but once she is out in the snow, it comes off in 3 minutes (or less).

Dave helped the kids put together a snowman which Sara chose to name Frosty. Real original.

Look how cute our Frosty is- equipped with blueberry eyes and a carrot nose! It was a very exciting and proud moment for Sara until...

Livvy decided to enjoy a Frosty Feast. She began eating Frosty's facial features, starting with his carrot nose. I should have thought of this in advance. Food makes Olivia's world go round and not even Frosty can stand in the way of that.

Still not satisfied, here she goes in for the blueberry eyes:

It really is a shame that I didn't get a picture of Sara's face- she was mortified.

a confession

I have to admit I have been keeping an itty bitty (yet growing rather quickly) secret. This secret comes in the form of a little 12 oz (as of today, of course) baby BOY growing in my belly!! We are excited (okay, elated!- backflips, cartwheels...) and also quite possibly crazy.

Dave came along to the ultrasound today, you know, to ask the important questions and keep track of all the finer details. Upon locating the babies "business", Dave asked the ultrasound tech to take a measurement. Seriously. I can't take this guy anywhere... But really, if the baby would have held still for 2 seconds I think she may have tried. Ha!

Let the shopping begin!
